Holly and Peter engagement session was photographed last spring. Holly had on a very "Holly" shirt. Vibrant pink, orange and blues...ummmm.....I saw this on her wedding bouquet designed by Golden Gate Studios. Her florals had "Holly" written all over them, vibrant and lush!
Holly and Peter's wedding took place on November 27th at Saint Gregory the Great and reception to follow at Warwick Country Club. If you remember that weekend, it was very cold, but I must say Holly and Pete where troupers. They both braved the cold and so did her wedding party. We where able to get beautiful outdoor shots and perfect sunset photographs. During our formals the theme was "we are on a beach and it is 90 degrees" he he. However, we where able to get past the bitter cold wind it was well worth it! We all went inside to party the night away. I have photographed past friends of Holly and Peter and it was nice to be photographing their group of friends again. Holly and Peter you are such a "warm" couple and very lucky to be in love with your soul mate! Congratulations!

Golden Gate Studios is owned by husband and wife, Jay and Melissa Lane. Their own wedding on Labor Day weekend 2003 gave them terrific insights and ideas to offer bridal clients. Melissa had worked at a florist's shop in Boca, Florida and returned home 9 years ago. She found work at a local florist and there, she met Jay. The soon opened their shop in Cranston, Rhode Island. Their primary goal is to provide you with elegant, unique handcrafted arrangements. "We provide a truly uncompromising level of quality and design at an affordable cost."
I recently had lunch with Jay and Melissa and they gave me a tour of their studio. The shop is a lovely and quaint place that has a very comfy meeting and display area. The back of the studio, however, is fully loaded! You can't even imagine all the ribbon, vases and swatches that surrounded me! It was amazing. They are both such truly warm people and have made their studio inviting and expressive. Thank you, Jay and Melissa, for making me feel so welcome and for a yummy lunch!
We where also published in Newport Wedding Magazine Cover: Sara Zarrella Photography photographed the cover image and Golden Gate did the flowers! Check it out here:

I have had the pleasure of working with Jay on occasion and he is always incredibly nice. Jay and Melissa's artistry and creativity with their floral arrangements are a beauty to behold. Without fail, they surprise me with an amazing bouquet at the wedding show we attend to display at my booth. (They somehow manage to outdo the prior year's arrangement too and completely blow me away.)
Golden Gate Studios recently provided the florist services at Jay and Allanah's wedding ... check out images from the wedding day.
Don't forget to ask about Golden Gates Studios "Up-Lighting"! It is always a nice way to enhance your wedding reception. You get to chose your style and size of your names or initials to shine on the floor or wall. It's also really fun to photograph!

Lucky for them they get to sometimes walk to work, as their home is right down the street.
These are just a few of the many "thank-you's" they have received.
Ribbons, ribbons, RIBBONS!

Holly and Peter
Holly and Peter met 10 years ago at URI and have been dating ever since! She's the absolute sweetest and he's 100% pure gentleman ~ no other way to put it!
Not long ago, they were enjoying a very romantic dinner at Spain in Narragansett, RI. When they finished their dinner, the couple decided to take the all-time favorite scenic walk along "the wall" that runs along the water's edge at Narragansett Beach to complete the perfect evening.
When I asked them where they would like to have their Engagement Session photographed, they decided to have it done at "the wall" ... fittingly, as that is exactly where Peter proposed to Holly the night of that romantic dinner.
We had a great time and caught some great photo-weather that day. Our intern, Kassie, joined us and was my second shooter for the session. She caught a truly magical moment (last photo).
Recently, and rather coincidentally, I had just seen the two a few days before their session while I was photographing Yvonne and Matt's wedding at the Atlantic Beach Club. Holly was a guest and Peter was in the wedding party!
Holly and Peter will be tying the knot on November 27th of this year at the Warwick Country Club. Mystique will be rocking the house that night and the florals will be provided by Golden Gate Studios. Holly chose ivory and berry for her colors, which will definitely bring that warm feeling of Autumn inside.
They are both very fun and lighthearted people and I am very much looking forward to spending their wedding day with them!

Below is the shot Kassie Lafazia, our intern, captured - beautiful shot!
