Erika and Matt K-I-S-S-I-N-G in Cedar Key

I ultimately become close with every couple I photograph but it's always an extra special treat when I have the honor of photographing couples who began as friends and then ask me to photograph one of the most important days in their lives. Erika and Matt are one of those couples!

Erika has been a friend of mine for years. Being in the industry that I am, I see my couples get married every weekend but standing up there and watching a dear friend of mine say her vows (which she wrote) brought me to tears. When you're a child, you dream about the man you will marry and what your wedding will look like ... as teens, Erika and I did just that. When I saw her with Matt for the first time I knew it ... I just knew he would be the one to grow old with my friend.

Recently, I flew down to Cedar Key Florida with a colleague for the celebration. I was actually a bridesmaid in their wedding party so I needed to have another photographer with me to cover a handful of the day's events ... however, I of course I had the old image box in my hands for just about every waking opportunity! (I probably would've carried that in lieu of flowers if they had let me! haha)

For some of their formals, we hit the streets of downtown Cedar Key and painted it RED (you'll see)!

Erika and Matt had there ceremony at Matt's father house on the lawn looking out to the beautiful Gulf ocean. The ceremony was at the perfect time ~ 4:00pm ... just as it was setting and creating that beautiful, warm tone.

Their wedding is scheduled to be featured in LaBella Bride Magazine's upcoming "Return to Romance" issue too (on stands now!) - how exciting!

Congratulations, you two!!!

Being the artist that Matt is...he made all the signs at the wedding.

Check it out!!! We've been featured throughout the entire LaBalla Bride "Return to Romance" issue ... on stands NOW! This is the first time the magazine has been published nationally and we're so very glad to be a part of LaBalla Bride's expansion! A full spread featuring our couple, Erika and Matt, and their Cedar Key, Florida wedding!

We LOVE when we get feedback from our couples! We recently received an e-mail from Erika and Matt after they took a New Year trip to the Big Apple. As they were strolling the city, they found a copy of the latest issue of LaBella Bride's magazine at one of the news agent's stand. Here they are showing off their feature!

Kayti and Winston

Winston and Kayti are high school sweethearts who will be tying the knot in March of 2011, which just happens to be their ninth anniversary.

For that first date almost nine years ago, Winston took Kayti to the Providence Place Mall where they rummaged through some old boxes. Kayti found a pair of sneakers and Winston bought a pair of fake eye glasses ... both of which made appearances in their Engagement Session images! (The sneakers are certainly a sign of the times too! hehe)

For the Engagement Session, we all took to their hometown of Swansea, MA to take the photos.

First up, let's begin with Winston's motorcycle. You know how most fathers forbid their daughters from riding them? Well, Kayti's dad SOLD Winston his bike!

Next up ... Winston's best friend, Nick. He drove the fire truck over to help us create a special setting for some of the images. Winston has been a volunteer fire fighter since high school ... it's always great when you've got a "brother" who always has your back, right?!

For the longest time, Winston had been promising to pop the question to Kayti "when she least expected it". The day of December 12, 2008 started out very busy. #1 They had just moved into their new home 5 days before. #2 It was opening night of the play they were both working on and ... #3 ~ it was Winston's birthday! They rushed from a family birthday dinner to the high school to take care of all the last minute details before curtain call. Before the doors were opened to the audience, Winston exclaimed that he had lost his wallet somewhere in the theatre. Kayti followed him through the empty theatre where they had first met and walked unsuspectingly right to the very row of seats where they had their first conversation. Winston's trusty friend, Nick, was conveniently hiding out at his perch in the lighting booth and shone a purple spotlight on Kayti just as Winston guided her into the aisle and got down on one knee ...

(Ahhh the romance and drama - theatre people, huh? hehehe)

Winston will be taking Kayti back to Providence for their biggest date ever on March 26th of 2011 where they will be getting married at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul with the reception to follow at the Biltmore Hotel, Providence.

Jessica and Kenneth - Part I

Jessica and Kenny met in August of 2002, when she applied for a server position at Meritage restaurant in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, where Kenny was working as the General Manager. They worked together for approximately four years until Jessica eventually left to finish up her degree to become a Dental Hygienist. After completing her degree, Jessica returned to work at Meritage in August of 2006 until she was able to obtain work in her chosen career field. Shortly after her return to Meritage, she and Kenny began dating.

From day one, they both began to realize that they enjoy doing many of the same things such as, watching The Boston Celtics, The New England Patriots and The Boston Red Sox! Whenever they get the opportunity, they love to enjoy weekend getaways in Boston to catch one of our favorite teams play. Most of all, they enjoy spending time with close friends and family.

Kenny proposed to Jessica on July 25^th 2009 at the Liberty Hotel in Boston. He chose the location because Boston is the city in which they enjoyed some of their most memorable evenings. After his proposal, Jessica and Kenny went out to enjoy a night on the town in Boston which consisted of a Red Sox game and drinks at the Alibi Lounge.

Jessica and Kenny's nuptials will take place on September 5th of 2010 at the Holy Name of Jesus with a reception to follow at the Biltmore Hotel, Providence.

Jessica and Kenneth's Engagement Session took place at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island.
