Holly and Peter

Holly and Peter met 10 years ago at URI and have been dating ever since! She's the absolute sweetest and he's 100% pure gentleman ~ no other way to put it!

Not long ago, they were enjoying a very romantic dinner at Spain in Narragansett, RI. When they finished their dinner, the couple decided to take the all-time favorite scenic walk along "the wall" that runs along the water's edge at Narragansett Beach to complete the perfect evening.

When I asked them where they would like to have their Engagement Session photographed, they decided to have it done at "the wall" ... fittingly, as that is exactly where Peter proposed to Holly the night of that romantic dinner.

We had a great time and caught some great photo-weather that day. Our intern, Kassie, joined us and was my second shooter for the session. She caught a truly magical moment (last photo).

Recently, and rather coincidentally, I had just seen the two a few days before their session while I was photographing Yvonne and Matt's wedding at the Atlantic Beach Club. Holly was a guest and Peter was in the wedding party!

Holly and Peter will be tying the knot on November 27th of this year at the Warwick Country Club. Mystique will be rocking the house that night and the florals will be provided by Golden Gate Studios. Holly chose ivory and berry for her colors, which will definitely bring that warm feeling of Autumn inside.

They are both very fun and lighthearted people and I am very much looking forward to spending their wedding day with them!

Below is the shot Kassie Lafazia, our intern, captured - beautiful shot!

Rachel and Brandt - The Dress!

Rachel had viewed my work and contacted me to have a Red Boot Session. We met and hit it off immediately. Prior to her finding me, she had hired another photographer for their May 7th wedding at the Chanler in Newport . After we met, she wondered how I would approach photographing them ... so, they decided to do "The Dress" with me. And, boy, did we have a blast! A couple of days after their wedding, and right before they headed out to their honeymoon, Rachel and Brandt met me at the Chanler in Newport. We took the gorgeous day and made the most of it. Simply walking around the city and stopping at whatever caught our eyes, the walk through Newport proved to make for a picturesque backdrop and the images speak for themselves!

Casey and Shannon

Casey and Shannon met and dated in college and eventually life happened and their life paths lead them in different directions. After some time spent establishing their careers, Shannon's curiosity moved her to look up her college flame. With match dot com, e-harmony and modern-day love, it's no surprise that Facebook is playing its part in reuniting hearts that belong together. They "friended" each other on Facebook and have since been making their history.

Casey recently did a Red Boot Session with us and the following weekend we all went to Newport to capture their magic in a Partner Shot Session. Casey and Shannon will be making it official on July 17, 2010 at Gracie's in Providence. We chose Newport to offset the Providence location and sort of change it up a bit. They've been taking professional dance lessons so that they can tear up a rug on the big day and while I was shooting, they were bustin' out their moves for me and my camera and dancing in the streets of Newport!

What a wonderful, fun, playful and happy couple they make and I am so privileged in my work to be able to bear witness to the displays of the strongest emotion in the book! I love to see love blossom and bloom all over the place and my vocation gives me that. Marriage gives you the only family member you can choose!

We have also featured Casey and Shannon on our website for May's Story of the Month!

Check back for the play-by-play visual story of Casey and Shannon tying the knot!

NJVA-WEVA Convention

Last week, I attended the 2nd Annual NJVA-WEVA Northeast Conference in New Jersey. This particular convention is for videographers however, I had the feeling that I would learn quite a bit of things that could be most beneficial to the way I shoot and I was right! It's always good to be able to look at your work from many different perspectives and this certainly opened my eyes to a million possibilities!

After some intense learning ... I made my way over to Harold's, the local deli where EVERYTHING was absolutely HUGE! From the menu to the pickle bar to the eclairs and enormous cookies - unbelievable and DELICIOUS!!! Glad I brought my little point and shoot - 'cuz if I just told you, you wouldn't believe it. HUGE!!! hahaha

This floral design by Stoneblossom, Colleen and Ike's wedding at OceanCliff was photographed by Sara Zarrella Photography and featured in

They where also featured in 2010 Newport Wedding Magazine

Stoneblossom was borne from a spark and ambitious endeavor in a charming greenhouse in Providence and has since blossomed into an eternal flame that has become the hearth of first-class floral arrangements and premiere event design in Rhode Island.

I have worked with Stoneblossom (ake a peak at Colleen and Ike's wedding to give you an idea of the their creativity in action) and I have seen their breathtaking work on site and, most recently, at their lovely studio. They are fellow EG'ers - right up the road from our studio here in East Greenwich (nice having such wonderful neighbors!). When I went their to chat with Maya and the rest of the team, I brought my camera along so I could give you a little tour of their stunning studio. (Take the visual tour below.)

The Stoneblossom design team has created spectacular events from a true blue Venetian Ball in Venice, Italy to forging a "Lava Lounge" in Maui, Hawaii. Their footprints have been made throughout Europe, Australia, Africa and the Middle East, but their talents are homegrown and their roots remain right here in Rhode Island. Their work is frequently featured at weddings and event in our claim to fame, Newport!

They are able to provide "one stop shopping" in all aspects of planning a destination wedding or event from dramatic lighting, custom tailored linens, elegant draping to, of course, their fantastic florals. When you visit their studio to be astonished ... tell 'em Sara said, "Hi Neighbor!"

Welcome!
One of their many uniquely visionary displays ...
A couple of shots of their workspace ...
One needs a bit of room for the huge ideas!
I HAD to ... it's my favorite color and I love tulips!!!
It just so happened that they were meeting with a client
while I was there ... so, I was able to capture "action" shots. ;-)
No other way to put it ~ the studio ...
Warm, cozy, colorful and expressive ...
I just HAD to photograph this 'cuz ... isn't this the coolest chair ever?!?!?!
