Pamela D'Orsi Ryan has an amazing network of reliable vendors and she knows how to effectively place the perfect vendor with each client. Aside from her resources, she has extensive experience and understanding of people. She combines all her knowledge with her personal approach to wedding planning to help you create the wedding or event that reflects your style and vision.

I have worked together with her on several occasions - and love the experience every time. She is just such a great energy to be around! We worked together at OceanCliff at Patty and Matt's wedding and, more recently, the Light of Life benefit for thyroid cancer awareness.

We both participated in the tastings at the Hyatt and the Biltmore recently and our booths were right near each other. I kept stealing  fun nick nacks from her booth to snazzy up my booth! haha I couldn't resist! She just has such an amazing flare!

I recently went to her invitation shop, which is right down the street from our studio, and we had a wonderful chat. I photographed the shop to give you an idea of all the wonderful items she has. You can easily spend hours looking at all the accessories; from fun little  baby showers to creative add ons for your wedding. You can get lost in there! Check it out!

The Dress "Trash The Dress"

A fun, creative session that provides you with one more opportunity to wear your fabulous wedding dress!!!

Why would anyone deliberately destroy their wedding dress during a photo shoot? For funzees!

"The Dress" photo shoot is for a bride who's looking for something a little different and who's a realist ... she knows that she'll never wear her gown again. The images can be a great addition to any album or wedding collection. It's for what I call "the love of photography" and certainly a freeing experience for both the photographer and couple. The rulebook is tossed aside and anything goes! Your imagination is your only limitation. The beach, a finger-painting party, champagne and strawberries - the object is to make it yours and truly own it! Most of all, its just really, really fun!

(You can see more images from this session below under "Roaming the Streets of Providence".)

Kudos go to a guy named John Michael Cooper (according to Wikipedia), who originally packaged the whole trash-the-dress concept.

THE WAVE
This is our favorite shot from one of our "The Dress" sessions. Lisa was fun and full of spontaneity!!! She was not afraid to get wet! This image involved some time (fortunately, Lisa's patient too! haha) -- waiting and being ready to snap the shutter at the precise time to record the true beauty of the bride and the wave. I am a junkie for moments and get a thrill each time I capture it.

A sequence from the shot:

An interesting story is attached to this session. It was assembled rather quickly after the Bride's wedding. She came in from California and we had one day to put it all together. She didn't have a dress with her so our quest began! We found a quaint little boutique called The Bridal Garden in East Greenwich where we able to score a beautiful dress for a complete steal and off we went!

Love the boots! WOOHOO!!!

Tastings & Wedding Show!

We here at Sara Zarrella Photography have been busy little bees keeping on top of the latest "buzz" of what's new in weddings. Over the past few weekends, we have participated in the tastings at the Providence Biltmore and at the Hyatt Regency Newport. Both were smashing successes and all the food was absolutely impeccable! (Okay, I'll admit it - I had a hard time with self control on those days! What? I LOVE great food!)

On February 20th, 2010, we also attended the 8th Annual Newport Bridal Show put on by Newport Magazine; Newport's biggest bridal event of the year held at OceanCliff. Hundreds of brides-to-be were able to shop for everything they need to plan their perfect wedding all in one place - another huge hit!

We are very glad to have been a part of all these events and we'd like to thank all of the wonderful brides and grooms who stopped by and said hello. It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with all of you and we look forward to hearing from you in the future!!!

Jaclyn and Christian

Jaclyn and Christian's Engagement Session was photographed on Super Bowl Sunday in downtown Providence in 20 degree weather! BRRRRRRR.

Cold? YES! Fun? YOU BET!!!

Jaclyn and Christian met at work. They realized immediately that their love was meant to be ... and were engaged within seven months.

Jaclyn soon moved to New Hampshire to be with Christian. They have set the date for November 13, 2010 and will be getting married in Quebec, Canada.

We'll share the nuptials with all of you after they've said, "I do!"

Check out Jaclyn and Christian's slideshow!

Meet our intern, Miss Kassie!

Recently, Kassie joined the Sara Zarrella Photography team to help us out here at the studio and to learn. She’s charming, enthusiastic and a lot of fun (and a little whimsical too … which always, helps hahaha). She immediately fit right in and we decided to offer her an internship so that she can feed her hunger to learn more about the art and science of photography. We asked her to write a little something about herself for the blog and this is what she had to say:

“I have a great sense of humor, love to laugh and enjoy having people who are funny around me. I’m usually very easy going and relaxed. My interests include writing, drawing, softball and especially photography. Photography sparked my interest in early 2009 and from then on, I knew that was what I would spend my life doing. Knowing I would continue to do something for the rest of my life was different for me; I had never kept a hobby for more then a few months! Now, more then a year later, I know that photography has become more than a passion, it’s a lifestyle. The types of photography that I like are wedding, portrait and nature.”

Kassie came to Sara seeking guidance, and Sara was excited to share her knowledge. Sara immediately recognized the passion when she met Kassie and was more than eager to fill the role of teacher.  Kassie has been raised around the wedding industry - her mom and dad are the proud owners of La Bella Bride MagazineKassie also understands the importance of photographs. She has a small family, who means the world to her, and she realizes the impact a preserved memory captured in an image can have. Besides interning for Sara Zarrella Photography, Kassie also manages the online Blogazine for La Bella Bride Magazine.  Kassie also said, “I hope to continue to work with Sara Zarrella Photography for a long time!”  So do we! ;-)
