The Cape

We have photographed at several locations on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  Here are a few samples of from one of our favorite venues:

Wychmere Harbor Club

Angela and Scott at Wychmere

Angela and Scott at Cape Cod, MA

I had already photographed the wedding of one of Angela's sisters and that's how I came to know her and her family.  It's always a pleasure when I get wedding clients who come back to me.  Not only do I begin to serve as the family photographer and get to know my clients even better but it helps me to continue to grow as a photographer, as it helps me with my creativity!  It's also always a welcomed feeling to know that clients and their relatives liked your work so much that they continue to come back - it's a wonderful thing.

I first photographed Angela and Scott, as a couple, on the beach on a summer evening for their Engagement Session.  Since they met each other on the soccer field, we decided to make the beach their playing field and create a soccer theme.  What a fun time that turned out to be!

Since they are both beach lovers ... their wedding, most fittingly, took place on the Cape on August 22, 2009.  On the big day, Angela got ready at her parent's home and then the ceremony took place at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans, MA.  Following the ceremony, we made our way to Wychmere Harbor Club.
The eagerly awaiting guests looked on as Angela and Scott made an incredibly unique entrance ...
The car used by Angela and Scott is actually her family's car.  Angela's sister and her husband used it on their wedding day and, before that, Angela's parents used it on their wedding day.  Something tells me that when the remaining sister who has yet to tie the knot will be using the car as well.  I love when a family creates their own traditions!
These gals were a very fun group!
The flowers in the room were plentiful and breathtaking.
Fancy Flowers of Orleans, MA did a lovely job!
This was SO pretty and creative!
Check out the soccer ball!  haha  No detail missed.  Amazing!

Keri and Michele

Just this past weekend, I headed out to to the beach at Narragansett with Keri and Michele for a Partner Shots Session.  We weren't alone ... their little Bostons joined us for the festivities.  Actually, the doggies were originally Michele's ... but now both have joint custody.  haha

There is really no other way to describe Keri and Michele but to simply say that they completely enjoy one another.  What an amazing couple to be around and we had such a terrific time!  We spent our time together laughing and enjoying some bubbly while the dogs ran around.  This was one of those sessions that was effortless - it just happened.  They were just being their awesome selves and all I had to do was capture it!

Keri is a big-time Bo' Red Sox fan and takes pride in her collection of her prized fan attire while Michele was showing off her new tattoo sleeve.  These two people are so genuine and real - I am VERY much looking forward to photographing their wedding tale ...

Update: Keri and Michele are officially wed!

Emily Hostetler is the creative and innovative force behind Paper Moss. Paper Moss is a custom design studio that tailors to suit each bride and event. Their specialty is in bridal invitations but they are full service and offer items ranging from programs to stationary, thank-you's, logos and more ... again, all custom. They use letterpress, which is by far unique, as it is the oldest "by-hand" printing method.

Emily began designing in school, making creations as side projects for friends. The more she designed, the more she fell in love with the creative process. She comes from NYC and has a fresh perspective, which carries over into her artistic approach. She takes the traditional use of printing methods and seamlessly blends it with what's new and different. She's eco-friendly in her work as well, using earth-friendly materials. They are always printed on partially recycled papers - always 100% cotton and soy inks are available upon request.

Emily is a big fan of wedding events because of the special attachments that blossom - her clients become her friends. She loves that every morning, she jumps up and is excited to go to work (which is so rare)! One of her greatest joys is when she learns that a guest has received a Paper Moss invitation and they can't get over the "wow-factor" - which definitely sets them apart from the rest. She's been known to take the tiniest detail from a bride's dress or venue decor and weave it into her designs.

Paper Moss' appeal is that they truly design specific to each client. They work very closely with you, involved throughout the entire process and supplying you with the attention you need.

"My ideal client/bride is someone who thinks of their invite suite as more of a piece of art."

In the first photograph of some custom Paper Moss samples below, Louisa and Frank's invitation is a perfect example of Emily's attention to detail and her ability to bring it all to fruition in a completely personalized representation of her clients' personalities, both as individuals and as a couple.

Frank and Louisa both love the outdoors, hiking, biking, birdwatching, fishing and share a genuine love of nature. They planned a completely "green" wedding and Emily helped to make their Save-the-Dates reflect that. (Her thought process is that your save-the-dates and/or invitations are the first things your guests are going to see.) The graphic in the center is a tree (life) and within the tree is the ancient Koru symbol (new beginnings). The bird on the left represents Louisa and the trout on the right represents Frank. She also created their custom monogram. The cards cards themselves are 100% eco-friendly - completely green and organic. Emily's work speaks for itself ....

I just recently went to Emily's location to pick up invitations that she created for my birthday party.  I took may camera and took some shots of her place and my invites, which came out SO beautifully - she's absolutely amazing (photos below - scroll through)!

Now, take a tour of Papermoss / Studio 539 ...
Emily's creativity spills into her displays ...
You can almost feel the textures ...
Emily somehow takes you right to the beach ... she's got a knack!
Very cozy ...
These are the invitations that she did for my Birthday Bash!

Pamela D'Orsi Ryan has an amazing network of reliable vendors and she knows how to effectively place the perfect vendor with each client. Aside from her resources, she has extensive experience and understanding of people. She combines all her knowledge with her personal approach to wedding planning to help you create the wedding or event that reflects your style and vision.

I have worked together with her on several occasions - and love the experience every time. She is just such a great energy to be around! We worked together at OceanCliff at Patty and Matt's wedding and, more recently, the Light of Life benefit for thyroid cancer awareness.

We both participated in the tastings at the Hyatt and the Biltmore recently and our booths were right near each other. I kept stealing  fun nick nacks from her booth to snazzy up my booth! haha I couldn't resist! She just has such an amazing flare!

I recently went to her invitation shop, which is right down the street from our studio, and we had a wonderful chat. I photographed the shop to give you an idea of all the wonderful items she has. You can easily spend hours looking at all the accessories; from fun little  baby showers to creative add ons for your wedding. You can get lost in there! Check it out!
